Mrs. Cleona Mae (nee: Yates) Courtney, of New Palestine, Indiana, age 88 years, born January 30, 1917 in Tildon, Kentucky, died December 20, 2005 in New Palestine, Indiana.

Mrs. Courtney, lived in Troy, Illinois for 40 years coming from Madison, Illinois and lived in Indiana for five years until her death. Mrs. Courtney was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, Illinois.

Mrs. Courtney is preceded in death by her parents, David and Froney (nee:Wilson) Yates, her husband, Jimmy S. Courtney, whom she married December 31, 1936 and passed away on May 23, 1975, a grandson, Kevin Brendel who passed away on November 7, 2005, seven brothers, Harvey, Clyde, Ernest, Virgre Lee, Arie Wesley, Elmer, and Ray Yates, and three sisters, Viola Lynn, Luedilli, and Einice.

Mrs. Courtney is survived by seven sons, William (DeeAnn) Courtney of Greenville, Illinois, James Courtney of BonTerre, Missouri, Thomas (Edra Nell) Courtney of Wildwood, Florida, George (Lockie) Courtney of Edwardsville, Illinois, Allan (Karla) Courtney of Troy, Illinois, Ronald (Laura) Courtney, and Benjamin (Virginia) Courtney of Palmer, Tennessee, three daughters, Mrs. Wanda (Dave) Cawvey of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Mrs. Brenda Wilburn of Collinsville, Illinois, and Mrs. Virginia Ostrech of Granite City, Illinois, 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 26, 2005.

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be at the Laughlin Funeral Home "Chapel" on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. with Brother Tim Lewis officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Estate in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
