Obituary
Clarice Mae Bartels, 88, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 5, 1920, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Clarice worked as a payroll clerk for Farm Service of Edwardsville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry E. and Frances M., nee Smith, Bartels; and sister, Melba (Omar) Hampton.
Surviving are her nephews, Michael (LeAnn) Hampton of Troy, Ill., and James (Valorie) Hampton of Troy, Ill.; great-nephews, Michael, Jared and Joshua Hampton; great-niece, Jamie Reitz; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Olivia, Cameron and Jackson Hampton and Ella Reitz.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill., with Rev. Mitchell Schuessler officiating. Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
