Cheryl Kay Stahlhut, 64, of Troy, Ill., born Feb. 16, 1950, in Alton, Ill., died Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Cheryl was a member of Eden UCC, and also attended Friedens UCC on occasion. She attended Triad High School. She was employed at Challenge Unlimited in Alton, and Granite City, Ill., for over 40 years. She loved to embroidery, made many quilts, pillowcases and dresser scarves, which she gave as gifts for special occasions. Cheryl was an accomplished chef, mostly enjoying eating what she prepared as well as what everyone else prepared, she loved to eat. She was a family person, and always enjoyed time she spent with her family, especially her mom, nieces and nephews and siblings. She never met a stranger, and had many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford H. and Shirley, nee Everman, Stahlhut; and a nephew, Derek Nungesser.
Surviving are a brother, Gary (Sue) Stahlhut of Troy, Ill.; a sister, Gayle (Alan) Nungesser of Troy, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Michelle Stahl-hut, Scott M. Stahlhut, Jennifer M. Stahlhut, and Megan Nungesser; great-nieces and nephews, Danielle Overby, Randollyn, Eryk and Austin Nungesser; and aunt, Eunice Slaby of Troy, Ill.; and an uncle, Donald (Pat) Everman of Foristell, Mo.
