Charles "Charley" A. Gaultney, 87, of Troy, IL, born Thursday, November 14, 1935 in East St. Louis, IL and passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in Highland, IL.

Charley was a long time faithful member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, IL.  Charley faithfully served his country from 1959 to 1964 in the United States Army.  He was a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Elks Lodge # 2517.  Charley was best known for his many years of repairing transmissions as owner and operator of Charley's Transmission Service.  He enjoyed the time he spent at his home in Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends.  He also enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, classic cars and Nascar races.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra G. (nee Smithson) Gaultney; his parents, Cleo and Mary L. (nee O'Donnell) Gaultney; a brother, Eugene Gaultney; his sisters, Aleene Brocco, Rita Youngman and Evey McBride; a sister-in-law, Linda Atkinson.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann (nee Carter) Gaultney of Troy, IL,; his children, Michael (special friend Peggy) Gaultney of Troy, IL and Carol (Jerry) Porter of St. Jacob, IL; step children, Alan (Laina) Smith of Brentwood, TN, Carolyn (John) Moisson of Naples, FL and Lynn (Mike) Sutton of Highland, IL; grandchild, Tyler Gaultney; step-grandchildren, Brad and Alana Smith, Carson Mayhall, Michele (Dustin) Schuman, Matthew (Ashley) Sutton, Adam (Morgan) Moisson, Haley (Will) Musgrave and Drew (Allye) Moisson; great-grandchildren, Lexie, Chloe, Skylar, Carter and Elliana; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday at Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, IL with Rev. Tim Harrison officiating.  Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
