Obituary
Carolyn L. Beck, 70, of Collinsville, Ill., born Jan. 6, 1942, in Okawville, Ill., died on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Mrs. Beck worked at Fairmont Park Race Track for more than 30 years. She was an avid gardener, who enjoyed working with her prize winning roses, earning many ribbons and awards at the county and state fairs. She enjoyed restoring antique furniture in her spare time. She also loved and enjoyed her pet cats.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Wilma, nee Hayden, Vitale; brothers, Frank and Tom Vitale; and sister, Connie Vitale.
Surviving are her three sons, Norman E. (Sherri) Beck of Troy, Ill., Richard N. (Melissa) Beck of Troy, Ill., and Glen E. Beck of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan, Richie and Stephen Beck; and a sister, Cindy Sine of Vandalia, Ill.
Memorials may be made to a humane society.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
