Carol A. Deloney, 69, of Troy, Ill., born September 12, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away March 5, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was a faithful member of Friedens United Church of Christ. She retired from the Triad School District after 34 years, teaching in the Marine Elementary school most of her career. She was very proud of being selected for the Excellence In Teaching Award twice. Carol loved the outdoors, biking, walking, gardening and working in her flower beds. She was a caregiver to many especially her parents and was always doing good deeds for others. Most of all she was the greatest cheerleader and so very proud of her two girls, always at their activities and ever so supportive in all they did.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren A. and Della M. (nee Howard) Spencer; and her brother, Dr. Donald W. Spencer, DVM.

Surviving are her husband, John Deloney of Troy, Ill.; daughters, Dana (Les) Paolucci of Rockwood, Tenn., and Andrea (Charlie Maneke) Deloney of Godfrey, Ill.; grandchildren, Caitlin and Dominic Paolucci; sister, Cindi (Jonathan) Hoppes of Edwardsville, Ill., and her grand-dog Lacey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, Ill., with Rev. Douglas Seagle officiating. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
