Carmen Russell, 97, of Troy, Ill., born June 30, 1918, in Bear Spring, Tenn., passed away Jan. 30, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
Carmen was a faithful member of Troy United Methodist Church, Troy, Ill. She was a talented floral designer and owner of the Russell Flower Shop in Collinsville, Ill., for over 50 years. She enjoyed yard work and growing flowers. Most of all she loved her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Russell; parents, William E. and Louella, nee Gray, Wallace; grandson, Matthew Russell; brothers, Maxie (Francis) Wallace, Preston (Gladys) Wallace, Edgar (Reba) Wallace and Roby (Mary) Wallace; and sister, Virginia (Eric) Anderson.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty Cothran of Troy, Ill.; son, David (Stephanie) Russell of Clinton, Ill.; grandchildren, Shawndel (Scott) Rose, Shelby (Brett) Ellis, Pam (Scott) Kunkel; great-grandchildren, Joshua Rose, Jack Kunkel, Abbey Rose, Tyler Gaultney and David Kunkel; and grand-daughter-in-law, Susan Kroger.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsille, Ill.
