Carl G. Hoenig, 83, of Troy, IL, born Friday, March 24, 1939 in St. Jacob, IL and passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Carl attended Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, IL. He graduated from St. Jacob High School Class of 1957. Carl worked for Gieselman Farm Equipment, Heberer Equipment and retired from John Deere of Shiloh. He enjoyed hard work, being a mechanic, gardening, watching westerns and wrestling matches, playing cards, auctions, his dogs and eating ice cream.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar G. and Charlotte "Lottie" (nee Harbert) Hoenig; a brother, Cecil Hoenig; sister-in-law, Mary Lou (nee Puncher) Hoenig.
Surviving are his wife, Anita (nee Stanley) Hoenig whom he married June 23, 1962 At Marine United Church of Christ; his daughters, Carla (Jacob) Toutloian and Carmen Hettenhausen both of Troy, IL; his grandchildren, Tara (Kyle) Dickinson, Tayla (Corey) Harbison and Jill Hettenhausen; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Dailyn Dickinson; nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Celebration of Carl's life will be held 6 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL. With Rev. Tim Harrison officiating.
