Carl J. Cox, 70, of Troy, Ill., born March 24, 1945, in East St. Louis, Ill., died March 22, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Carl was a member of the Catholic Church. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was very proud of his membership with Boilermakers Local 363, starting out in 1971. Carl was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW Post 1117 Caseyville, Ill. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and always had candy for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray L. and Mildred, nee Carl, Cox; and a brother, Robert Cox.
Surviving are his wife, Janis, nee Ferry, Cox of Troy, Ill.; son, Michael Cox of Edwardsville, Ill.; daughters, Jo Ann "Jodi" Cox of Edwardsville, Ill., and Kelly (Craig) Tyler of Collinsville, Ill.; and grandchildren, Mallory Nevins, Sawyer Heck and Dexter Tyler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, at the funeral home, with Deacon Bob Crosby officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
