Brittney Lea Stephens, age 15, of Sorento, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a student at Greenville High School, where she was active in basketball, volleyball, and track. She was a good student and loved animals. She enjoyed spending time with the Youth Group at the Assembly of God Church in Sorento. She was a loving daughter and sister. Brittney lived generously and died generously by donating her organs so that others may benefit. She is survived by her mother, Becky Lynn Barker, of Sorento; her sister Brooke and her brothers Dillon and Dustin, also of Sorento, and her father Tom Stephens of Troy. She was preceded in death by her stepdad, Eric Barker, on January 19, 2003.

Memorial Services: Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Sorento School Gymnasium, 510 South Main Street, Sorento.
