Brenda Jeannine, nee Collins, Blume, 69, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 27, 1939 in Blairsville, Ill., died Monday, Jan., 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Health Center in Clayton, Mo.

Mrs. Blume was a homemaker and former school teacher. Brenda was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, UMW and the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Blume was preceded in death by her parents Jason J. and Genevieve, nee Murphy, Collins.

Surviving are her husband Bruce A. Blume of Troy, whom she married Aug. 4, 1962; son, Brett (Kathy) Blume of Glen Carbon, Ill.; daughters Beth (Stephen) Barbour and Becky (Wes) Morgan both of Troy, Ill.; brother Larry M. Collins of California; grandchildren, Melanie, Jason and Beau Barbour, Devin Blume, and Dakota and Josie Morgan.

Memorials may be made to the Troy United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Richeson-Laughlin Funeral Home and Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 9 to 10 a.m. at Troy United Methodist Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, 10 a.m. at Troy United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Mrs. Blume's wishes were to be cremated.
