Bonnie Lou Dobrinich, nee Rehg 83 of St Jacob died August 10th 2023. She was born in Highland, IL on February 27, 1940, to the late Edgar Rehg and Edith (Woods) Aebischer.

She was preceded in death by her sister Carol Hewitt, and her son-in-law Billy Bridges and her partner Jerald Schneider. Her survivors include a daughter, Edie Bridges of St. Jacob, IL; a daughter Susan (John) Kautzer of Champaign, IL; two granddaughters: Brandy (Nathan) Anderson of San Francisco CA; and Emily (Zach) Kautzer of Champaign, IL; two grandsons: Brad (Mary)Bridges of Virginia Beach VA; Sam Kautzer of St. Jacob, IL; three great grandsons: Ian May of San Francisco CA, Brandon and Benjamin Bridges of Virginia Beach, VA; two great granddaughters Layla Grace Anderson of San Francisco, CA and Zoe Artemis Kautzer-Williams of Champaign, IL; her brother Bob(Marie) Rehg of Marine, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was employed by the State of Illinois for 30 years starting as a receptionist for the Department of Public Aid and rising in the ranks to become a caseworker IV. During her retirement she volunteered as a Meals on Wheels Driver in St, Jacob. She would also watch her neighbors'children getting them to and from elementary school.

She was an animal lover and could never turn away a stray cat. She spoiled her indoor cats and dogs. She was an avid bowler through the age of 77 and started painting later in life. She also enjoyed the occasional game of Bingo and Queen of Hearts drawings. She never knew a stranger and was willing to help anyone who needed it. She loved country music, Elvis, 50's Rock and Roll and blue Jeans. She also loved a well worn comfortable flannel shirt in the winter. She loved her grandchildren and was prone to spoiling them. She was diagnosed with Dementia at 79 and her zest for life started to diminish, but not her love of music and good food.

There will be no visitation and the funeral services will be for family only.

A celebration of her life for friends and family will be held at the St. Jacob Activities Center on Sunday, September 24th from 1-5 pm. We ask that everyone attending wear blue jeans. Be prepared to listen to some of Bonnie's favorite music and eat some of her favorite foods! We look forward to sharing your memories of her.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Metro East Humane Society or the Glen Ed Pantry.
