Bobby Rees Llewellyn, 83, of Troy, Ill., born Sept. 9, 1924, in Troy, Ill., died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Maryville Manor, Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Llewellyn a Navy Veteran serving in WW II and was a registered nurse retiring from John Cochran VA Medical Center. He lived all his life in the Troy, IL area. He loved golfing, deer hunting, gardening, his western books and movies. Bobby was a member of the American Legion Post 708, Troy, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Maude, nee Lyons, Llewellyn; a great-grandchild, Destiny Nemsky; and two brothers, Morgan and William Llewellyn.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Peg", nee Robinson, Llewellyn whom he married on May 7, 1949; a son, Leonard Llewellyn of Troy, Ill.; two daughters, Patricia (Douglas) Switzer of Troy, Ill., and Kathleen (Michael) Nemsky of Troy, Ill.; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Joan (Bill) Fox of Troy, Ill.
Memorials may be made to St. Jerome's Catholic Church or to the family.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with Msgr. Virgil Mank officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
