Billy Dell Atwood, age 66, of Edwardsville, formerly of Troy, Illinois, passed away Friday morning at 5:27 am, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois.

Bill was born August 21, 1937 in Troy, Illinois, to Hubert and Theda (nee Roberts) Atwood. He married Betty Jo Cornwell on February 28, 1968 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy. He was a member of the Baptist church and past member of Silver Creek Coon Club.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; two sons, Danny Bill Webb of Texas and Todd Brady (Janet) Webb of Wood River, Illinois; a daughter, Laurie Lynn (Don) Brown of Edwardsville; three stepsons, Dean (Glenda) Howell, Jr. of Black Springs, Arkansas, Charles (Jeanette) Howell of Cornith, Mississippi, and Leeland (Kelli) Ross of Collinsville, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Evelyn Johnson of Victoria, Texas nad Brenda Lee (Michael) Moses of Fort Worth, Texas. Also surviving are three brothers, Roy of Swansea, Illinois, Robert (Joy) of Huber Heights, OH, and James (Shelby) of Trenton, Illinois; six sisters, Beverly (Jesse) Foley of Troy, Linda Braswell of Granite City, IL, Janet (William) Haluch of Collinsville, Illinois, Karen (Ken) Walther of Collinsville, Illinois, Carla Atwood of Florida, and Sandi (Russell) Dykes of Bowling Green, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Jerry Atwood.

Visitation: 4:00 - 9:00 pm, Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: 11:00 AM, Monday, April 19, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Jim Wiens officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Illinois
