Bettye F. Smith, 80, of Troy, IL, born Saturday, November 2, 1940 in Calhoun City, MS and passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Aspen Creek of Troy.

Bettye loved her family and was always happiest when spending time with them.  She was a member of the Granite City Moose Lodge.  She enjoyed needle work, crochet, cross stitch and embroidery.  She made and gave many quilts to Shriners Hospital, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and area Nursing Homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Smith; parents, Jim and Grace D. (nee McGreger) Green.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Harold) Niebruegge of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Jacob Niebruegge of Creve Coeur, MO and Sarah Niebruegge of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, David B. (Rita) Green of Bruce, MS; sisters, Kay Hunzinger of Phoenix, AZ and Anita Thomas of Bruce, MS; friend to many.
