Betty J. Menchak, nee Whitlock, 77, of Troy, Ill., formerly of Marine, Ill., Born June 1, 1933, in Shipman, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at her daughter's home.

Mrs. Menchak retired as a store manager of Gliks in Highland, Ill. She attended New Life Assembly in Troy, Ill.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Menchak; parents, Dewey and Margaret Whitlock; brother, Harold Whitlock; a grandson, Scott Veith; and a granddaughter, Stacey Menchak.

Surviving are her daughter, Margie (Rick) Veith of Glen Carbon, Ill.; sons, Bill (Terri) Menchak of Ellisville, Mo., and Frank (Annette) Menchak of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Michelle Cook, Rob Veith, Christy Menchak, Stephanie Dahl, Billy Menchak, Jessie Menchak, Allison Menchak and Danielle Menchak; great-grandchildren, Abbey, Brittney and Callie Rickard, Danika Cook, Hailey, Mara, Emma and Allie Veith, Amber and Jordan Dahl, Dustin Norton, Savannah Thebeau. Also surviving are her beloved sister, Mary Jones of Benld, Ill.; and sister-in-law, Deloris Whitlock of East Alton, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or New Life Assembly of God Church.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at New Life Assembly of God Church in Troy, Ill. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery in Troy, Ill.
