Obituary
Betty F. May, 93, of Troy, IL, born May 15, 1924 in Chicago, IL, passed away November 20, 2017 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center, Edwardsville, IL.
Betty was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was retired from the Collinsville Herald as a writer. Betty enjoyed Sewing, quilting, flea marketing and painting, but most of all she loved her family and the times they were together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack May, whom she married Aug. 16, 1949 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, who passed away Sept. 8, 1997; son Jack D. May; parents Libor and Eva (nee Jakob) Feranec; brothers, Paul, Leo and John Feranec; and sisters, Ann LeGrand and Mildred Feranec.
Surviving are her son, Barry E. (Darlene) May of Altamont, IL; daughter-in-law, Debi May of Highland, IL; grandchildren, Erin (Mark) Cunningham, Jamie (Dave) Crouthers, Corinne (Mark) Gibson, Shawn (Emily Brumm) May and Krystal (Kit) Anders; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Philip, Madeline, Mara and Olivia Gibson, Brody Cunningham, Nolan and Kamden Crouthers; and brother, Tom (Pauline) Feranec of Chicago, IL.
