Mrs. Betty J. Hines, (nee: Carroll), 81, of Troy, Illinois, born July 25, 1925 in Connersville, Indiana, passed away July 6, 2007 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois.

Mrs. Hines has lived in Troy for most of her life. She was a homemaker. Betty enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved to bowl, and spent many years as a Girl Scout Leader. But mostly she devoted her life to her daughters and grandchildren. Betty was a member of Maryville Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Hines is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Carroll (Robert) Poletti of Troy, Illinois and their family, John Poletti, Adam (Lisa) Poletti with Timothy, Nathan (Lori) Poletti with Jennifer and Kristin, and Mrs. Sheila (Norris) Brase of Troy, Illinois and her family, Tara, Derek and Kristina Brase, and a sister Mrs. Bobbette Ellis of Venice, Illinois.

Mrs. Hines is preceded in death by her parents William and Anna (Eckenberg) Carroll, her husband Arthur E. Hines whom she married August 10, 1946, and he passed away October 17, 1998, a son John Hines died in infancy, and sisters Dona Jean and Shirley Borbach.

VISITATION: Friends may call at the Maryville Assembly of God Church on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Services to immediately follow at 6 P.M. at the Church. Private committal service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri at 10 A.M. with Reverends Patrick and Diane Herlitz officiating.
