Obituary

Betty June Ford Allen, 88, of Troy, Ill., born March 29, 1926, in Ethel, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her home.

Betty was a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church, Edwardsville, Ill. She owned and operated the Cahokia Floral and Gifts Shop in Cahokia, Ill., for many years and was a member of Jarvis Township Senior Citizens. Betty enjoyed her time traveling, playing bingo and her flowers both growing and arranging them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Eugene Ford; and her parents, Glen and Francis "Fannie", nee Ethridge, Pritchard.

Surviving are two children, Raymond (Brenda) Ford of Highland, Ill., and Beverly J. (Philippe L. Belonni) Szopinski of Edwardsville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Greg, Jeff and Bryan Craine, David and Adam Ford and Terri Moss; and 11 great-grandchildren, Kathy, Nick, Matthew, Greg, Zach and Jacob Craine, Cole, Noah and Trey Moss and Arabella and Savannah Ford.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Highland, Ill.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at First Baptist Church, with Dale Corn member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church and Elder Jim Ridings officiating. Burial will be at Highland City Cemetery, Highland, Ill.
