Betty Cothran, 82, of Troy, IL, born Saturday, May 31,1941 in Collinsville, IL, passed away at Cedarhurst of Troy on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Betty attended Troy Methodist Church in Troy, IL.  She retired from Union Pacific Railroad in St. Louis after 35 years.  Betty devoted her retirement to Ministries Unlimited Food Pantry in Troy for over 20 years, serving as Executive Director until 2022.  Her hobbies included painting, crafting and serving those in need.  Betty loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Carmen (nee Wallace) Russell.

Surviving are her children, Shawndel (Scott) Rose of St. Jacob, IL and Shelby (Brett) Ellis of Hawesville, KY; grandchildren, Joshua (Maggie) Rose, Abbey Rose and Tyler Gaultney; her brother, David (Stephanie) Russell of Clinton, IL; niece, nephew, cousins, and many dear friends.
