Bessie Elizabeth Schaake, 87, of St. Jacob, Ill., born July 14, 1925, in Holcomb, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Gateway Regional Hospital, Granite City, Ill.

Mrs. Schaake retired from Jakel Manufacturing after 16 years. She was also a township clerk for St. Jacob for many years and worked many years on the St. Jacob homecoming. She was a long time member of United Methodist Church in St. Jacob, a member of UMW and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlyn Schaake; her son, James Cauble; her parents, John Robert and Anna Myrtle, nee Pittman, Malear; a brother, Andrew "Jack" Malear; and sisters, Grace Atkins and Be-atrice Malear.

Surviving are her brother, Dorris "Bud" (Dorothy) Malear of Granite City, Ill.; grandchildren, Sherry Emery, Wesley Cauble, Robin Cauble, Becky Hopper and Dewayne Cauble; 10 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Aebischer-Richeson Funeral Home, St. Jacob, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the fu-neral home with Rev. Pablo Marty officiating. Burial will be at Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.
