Bernet R. "Bert" Tegtmeier, 88, of Troy, Ill., born October 7, 1927, in Maryville, Ill., passed away March 5, 2016, at the Fountains, Troy, Ill.

Bert was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a farmer, and enjoyed wood working, tractors, Gospel and old Country Music.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose A. (nee Collins) Tegtmeier; parents, William Sr. and Augusta (nee Langreder) Tegtmeier; brother, William Tegtmeier Jr.; sisters, Frances Schanuel, Florence Hellmich and Wilma Kelley; nephews, Ernest K. Hellmich and Rick Kelley.

Surviving are his step children, Bill (Sheri) Broyles of Collinsville, Ill., Larry (Norma) Broyles of St. Louis, Mo., Mary (Bob) Smith of Sullivan, Mo., Barbara Lewis of Brighton, Ill., and Patricia (Bob) Brinker of Imperial, Mo.; brother-in-law, William H. Schanuel of Glen Carbon, IL; nieces, Cheryl (Dale) Van Der Steeg of La Salle, Ill., Roben (Eugene) Carter of Des Peres, Mo.,, Roxane (Dan) Clatanoff of Omaha, NE, Renee (Jeff) Hobbs of New Baden, Ill.; nephews, William (Sabrina) Kelley of Barrington, Ill., Randall Kelley of The Villages, FL; Nieces, Karen Hellmich of Troy, Ill., and Virginia Kelley of Lake Villa, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a,m, Thursday, March 10, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Maryville, Ill.
