Bernice Isabel Panus, 86, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 31, 1922, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center, Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. Panus was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Panus;
a son, Larry Panus; her parents, Bronek and Caroline Lekosky; a brother, Edward Leksoky; seven sisters, Mary Lekosky, Helen King, Agnes Houlihan, Anne Schultz, Stella Lekosky, Josephine Lekosky and Rose Sanders.

Surviving are a son, Michael Panus of Troy, Ill.; a daughter, Judith (Stuart) Savage of Edwardsville, Ill.; and three brothers, John (Pat) Lekosky of Fairmont City, Ill., Frank Lekosky of Troy, Ill., and Joseph (Josephine) Lekosky of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Laughlin Funeral Home Chapel, Troy, Ill. Monsignor Virgil Mank officiating. Burial will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
