Mrs. Bernice E. (nee: Klein) Arth, 89, of Troy,Ill., born August 3, 1916 in Manhattan, Kansas, died October 30, 2005 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.

Mrs. Arth lived in Troy her entire life. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, a member of St. Ann DCCW, Woman's Club of Troy, Troy Lions Club, Legion of Mary, Edwardsville Moose Lodge #1561 and Daughters of Isabella.

Mrs. Arth is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ida (nee:Freivogel) Klein, her husband Albert Arth whom she married on February 20, 1941 and passed away on October 17, 1985, a son-in-law, Vincent Kauhl who passed away on March 14, 2005, three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice (Virgil) Krause, Mrs. Irene (Edward) Votrain, Vivian Eakens, two brothers, Roland and Robert Klein, and one sister-in-law, Edna Songer.

Mrs. Arth is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Roberta (Ray) Winterberg of Glen Carbon, Ill., Ms. Glenda Songer of Gainsville, Fla.,Mrs. Sylvia Kauhl of Marine, Ill.,Ms. Alicia Arth of Belleville, Ill.,and Ms. Theresa Arth of Kimberling City, Mo.,one sister, Mrs. Cleo Brede of New Baden, Ill.,two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice (William) Klem, of Collinsville, Ill., and Doris Klein of Mascoutah, Ill., ten grandchildren Brian and Barry Kauhl, Taurean Wilhold, Anthony, Eryn and Devin Whittaker, and Dalton, Duston, Lorelei and Shannon Milhoan, two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brendon Kauhl, and a host of nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Friends may from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Ill. A Prayer Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with Msgr. Virgil W. Mank, V.F. officiating. Interment will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill. Memorials are to St. Jerome Building Fund or Christian Foundation for Children and Aged.
