Obituary

Mrs. Bennie Alexander Reynolds, 86, of Bruceton, TN, was born October 8, 1920 in Scotta Hill,TN to the late Elvis L. and Mauda Ann (nee:Robbins) Alexander. Departed this life on September 30, 2007 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntington, TN. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Bruceton Church of Christ.

After moving to East St. Louis, IL. in the late 50's then to Alhambra in the 70's and back to her hometown in Bruceton, TN. in the late 80's to take care of her brother. Mrs. Reynolds has made many friends. She was head baker at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, IL. for many years. She loved to bake, sew, crochet, garden, doing puzzles, taking care of her flowers and playing cards with her grandchildren after school. Mrs. Reynolds loved the weekend trips to the club house on the Kaskaskia River. She won several Blue Ribbons at the fair for her quilts, crochet work and canning.

Mrs. Reynolds is preceded in death by her parents Elvis L. and Mauda (nee: Robbins) Alexander; her husband Ralph D. Reynolds; brothers Rubol and Escoe Alexander; sister Robbie (nee: Alexander) Hancock; grandchildren Jerry Singleton Jr., Marlo Marie and Ralph W. Reynolds Jr., two nephews and one step grandchild.

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by a son Jerry (Sandi) Singleton Sr. of Seattle, WA.; daughter Kay (Charles) Barker of Bruceton, TN.; a step-son Ralph (Cindy) Reynolds Sr. of Alhambra, IL.; three sisters Norma Dee (Hurchal) Cook of Paris, TN.; Vaughn Walp and Joan Ballard of Camden, TN.; two grandchildren Penny Singleton of Washington; Chris (Michelynn) Barker; three step children Cheri (Paco) Newman; Cecily (Scott) Miller of Alhambra, IL., Letizia (Jeff) Lowe Rehberger; two great-grandchildren Harold and Conner of Washington; four step great-grandchildren Jessica, Justin, Cody and Catelyn Lowe of Highland, IL. Many nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2 P.M. at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Reverend Ted Gentle. Interment was at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock, TN.
