IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Belinda Jo
"Sam" Lundberg
August 3, 1961 – November 14, 2024
Belinda ("Sam") Jo Lundberg, 63, of Troy, IL, was born Thursday, August 3, 1961, in Danville, IL and passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in St. Louis, MO after a difficult fight with cancer.
Belinda graduated from Seeger High School in West Lebanon, IN and received her bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of South Carolina. She worked as a software developer for 25 years for the same company, while it was Bridge Information Systems, Reuters, Thomson Reuters, Refinitiv, and finally London Stock Exchange Group.
Belinda had a love that far exceeded her small stature. She cared deeply for all living things, but especially enjoyed her cats. She donated to charities, gave blood frequently, and opened her home to strays. Belinda loved to hike, go hunting for morels, listening to 70's music, and attending events at the local parks. She also enjoyed problem solving, whether it be as part of her job or playing card games or working puzzles with her family. She was fiercely protective of her family and friends. She was also the best mom and grandma in the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Betty (nee Van Pelt) Chambers.
Surviving is her husband, Matthew Lundberg of Troy, IL; her daughter, Allison (Jerry) Fontana of O'Fallon, MO; granddaughter, Madison Jo Pollard; bonus daughter, Jennifer Moreno of St. Cloud, MN; her sisters, Bettina (Scott) Chambers of St. Louis, MO and Brenda (Wes) Kern of Shiloh, IL; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charities that were important to her: Pedal the Cause (pedalthecause.org) for cancer research, the World Wildlife Fund (worldwildlife.org), The Nature Conservancy (preserve.nature.org), or the American Red Cross (redcross.org).
