Mary A. "Becky" Hanser, 78, of Troy, Ill., born Feb. 18, 1938, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Becky was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was the school crossing  guard at the intersection of Dewey and Clay Street in Troy, for over 17 years and was known for her special treats that she gave to her kids.  She loved to play bingo, and cards, especially Euchre and was known to be the game boss.  She touched a lot of peoples lives from multiple generations.  She was a legend in her grandchildren's eyes.  If you knew Becky, you knew she was never afraid to freely speak her mind, but always had a heart of gold.  She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Hanser, whom she married in 1960 and who passed in 1991; daughter, Julia Hanser; and parents, James and Mary (nee Keller) Orris.

Surviving are her sons, David (Barb) Fults of Troy, Ill. and Don (Rhonda Beth) Hanser of Marine, Ill.; grandchildren, Bonnie (Brian) Von Bokel, Julie (Brian) Mattingly, Katie, Kellie and Kristen Hanser; great-grandchildren, Claire, Cameron and Savannah Von Bokel and Nolan Mattingly.

Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2016  and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 20, 2016 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 at the funeral home, with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating.
