Obituary
Barbara Waters, age 75, of Troy, passed away October 5, 2003 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. She was born February 3, 1928 in Troy.
Mrs. Waters worked as a server for many years at Standard Truck Plaza in Troy. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ. She enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee with her neighbors and was especially fond of going out to eat. She enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Erwin Schmitt; her second husband, George Waters, her parents, John and Martha (nee Sinskey) Barsch and her sister, Mary Jay Sackett.
Surviving are two sons, John (Kathy) Schmitt of Highland; Paul (Wendy) Schmitt of Swansea; two daughters, Vicki Kiraly of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Patti Briggs of Troy; three brothers, Donny (Nancy) Barsch, Ronny Barsch, and John "Buck" Barsch; two sisters, Aggie Frederking, Joan Niebruegge; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation: Friends may call after 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home and 9:00 - 11:00 AM, Friday, October 10, at Laughlin Funeral Home.
Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, October 10, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Jarvis Township Senior Citizens or to Ministries Unlimited.
