Barbara C. Martin (nee Stogsdill), 78, of St. Jacob, IL, born December 13, 1939 at Raymond, IL, passed on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

Barbara attended Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, IL. She served her Country faithfully retiring from the United States Airforce. Barbara taught in the nursing program and retired from SIUE. She was an avid supporter of the Larry Rice ministry and volunteered many hours in their medical clinic, she also worked with the Madison County Health Department and volunteered for many other community programs. She enjoyed a good game of bingo when she had time to play. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all she met.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gonzalo Martin whom she married in Gibraltar in 1966 and he passed away September 21, 2016; parents Julius Virgil "Stogy" And Eliza (nee Kinsley) Stogsdill; brother James Stogsdill; brother-in-laws, Joseph Bergman, Warren Turner.

Surviving are her daughter, Desiree (Steve) Jellen of Edwardsville, IL; son, Michael Martin of Troy, IL; granddaughter, Hannah Jellen; sisters, Mary Lou Bergman of Hillsboro, IL, Betty Turner of Highland, IL; sister-in-law, Nann Stogsdill of Troy, IL; brother-in-laws, Salvador (Lucia) Martin and Jose Martin, and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
