Obituary
Avelina Brendel, 85, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Sept. 12, 1929, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, Ill.
Avelina was a member of St. James Catholic Church, St. Jacob, Ill. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling. The loves of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Garcia.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (Paul) Huch of Columbia, Ill.; a son, Rodney Brendel of St. Jacob, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jenna (Jeremy) Heinlein and Mike Huch; three great-grandchildren, Addison and Macy Heinlein, and Avelina Huch.

Funeral Mass of Resurection will be said at 11:30 am Friday, December 12, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL, with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, IL
