Arthur Jacob Boeshans, 78, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 24, 1930, in Beulah, N.D., died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Boeshans was an honorary member of the PTL and Elder of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; teacher from 1970 to 1993 at Molden Elementary, Triad School District, and served as principal and teacher from 1956 to 1970 at St. Paul's Lutheran School. Mr. Boeshans enjoyed the outdoors which included hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also a baseball Cardinals fan. Art will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, LaVerne, his family members, friends,and the many lives he touched during his 41 years of teaching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Frieda, nee Horning, Boeshans; brothers, Ernest, Hubert, Herbert, and Benjamin Boeshans; and sister, Hilda Windmeier.

Surviving are his wife, LaVerne, nee Kops, Boeshans whom he married on Sept. 12, 1953 and would have celebrated their 56th anniversary this Saturday; son, Brion (Jan) Boeshans of St. Jacob, Ill.; daughters, Susan (Les) Tiek of Moro, Ill., and Anne (Curt) Weis of Highland, Ill.; brothers, Louie (Betty) Boeshans, Don (Dorothy) Boeshans, and Mark (Liz) Boeshans; sisters, Irene Bergstrom, Rose (George) Grams-Knopf, Frieda (LeRoy) Evgen, and Marilyn (Gary) Irwin; grandchildren, Cory (Jackie) Boeshans, Rachel (Kyle) Sipes, Ryan (Mindy) Tiek, Ashleigh Tiek, C.J. (Barbie) Weis, Coren Weis, and Cayle Weis; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Boeshans, Ethan Tiek, Myron Tiek, and Patton Weis.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran School or Church.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
