Arline Linda (Kueker) Lyons went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 12:05 a.m. while under the care at University Nursing & Rehabilitation in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Born January 11, 1922 in Troy, she was the daughter of Henry C. and Frieda (Peters) Kueker.
She attended Hickey Business School & then worked for the Monsanto Company.
Arline married Kenneth Lyons on April 14, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1993 after celebrating 50 years of marriage together.
Survivors include her two sons, Jim (Doris) Lyons of Troy, and Terry (Ruth Anne) Lyons of, Ewa Beach, Hawaii. 2 grandchildren; David (Susan Donius) Lyons of Potomac, Maryland and Jan (Patrick) Lyons Wrischnik of Godfrey IL. 2 step grandchildren: Leasa Erkiletian of St. Louis and Steve Yawberry of Oklahoma City, Ok.
4 great-grandchildren: Kirsten & Justin Lyons of Potomac, Maryland and twin grandsons: Miles and River Wrischnik of Godfrey, IL. Four step great-grandchildren, Brandon Beck of Oklahoma City OK, Heather, Amber, and Emlea Yawberry of Kaufman TX.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Past President of the Ladies Aid, and a member of Helping Hands. Arline enjoyed her grandchildren & great grand children, doing daily crossword puzzles, playing the piano, visiting with friends while dining out, playing cards, and especially watching and following Cardinal's baseball.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Laughlin- Richeson Funeral home in Troy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy. Burial will be at Friedens cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
