Archie W. McCall, age 88, of Troy, passed away at his daughter's home on Thursday, August 7, 2003. Mr. McCall was born in Thayer, Illinois on September 11, 1914 to Archie and Mary Ellen (Mottershaw) McCall. He married Alice White on May 20, 1944. SHe preceded him in death in 1978. Archie was a retired foreman for Baughman-Oster Company. He was an Army Veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a Purple Heart recipient. He spent most of his life in Taylorville, Illinois and moved to Troy 4 years ago. He was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church and the VFW Post 4495 in Taylorville, Illinois.

He is survived by his daughters Mary Ellen McCall of Taylorville and Eugenia (Fred) Parsons of Troy, Illinois; a brother-in-law Ralph White of Scotts Hill, Tennessee; two nieces Ann Landrum and Marilyn Rushing, both of Tennessee; and two grandchildren, Jill (Todd) Fisk of Arvada, Colorado and Carol Parsons of St. Louis, Missouri.

Visitation: 4-8 pm, Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Illinois and again at 11:00 am, Monday, August 11, 2003 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville, Illinois.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Monday, August 11, 2003 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL

Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL
