Anthony "Tony" Zagar,80,passed away on Friday, January 14, 2005 at Maryville Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Zagar was born in Madison, Illinois on December 21, 1924 to the late Anton and Josefina (nee: Camlic) Zagar.
Mr. Zagar was married to Margaret (nee: Colligan) Zagar on April 24, 1954 in Madison, Illinois.During their marriage God Blessed Tony and Margaret with three children.
Twin sons; Keith(Amy)Zagar of Southlake, Texas, Mark (Pam) Zagar of Evans, Georgia and a daughter; Mrs.Toni(David)Dunning of Chicago, Illinois and seven Grand Children. Mr. Zagar is preceded in death by his parents , one brother Joseph and two sisters Eva and Mary. Mr. Zagar work for the Edwardsville Creamery in Edwardsville,Illinois until his retirement in 1957. He served his country faithfully in the US Army and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Zagar was a faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy for many years. He was a past member of Croation Fraternal Union in Madison, Illinois.
Mass of Chrtistian Burial was held on Monday, January 14, 2005 at St. Jerome Church with the Monsignor Virgil Mank, V.F. officiation. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois. Pallbearers were Edward Colligan, Gabriel and Aaron Zagar, Jon Dunning, Matthew and Patrick Zagar.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses or the the donor's favorite Catholic Charity.
