Annette Mallett Haines, 71, of Troy, IL, born November 27, 1945 in St. Louis, MO, passed away July 22, 2017 in St. Louis, MO.
Annette was a scholar of Montessori Education, and the depth of her passion led her to devote her life to tirelessly traveling worldwide consulting, lecturing, writing, and teaching others about this discipline. She was involved in the field of Montessori since 1972. She became the director of the Montessori Training Center in St. Louis in 1989 and has trained hundreds of teachers from that time forward. She will be deeply missed by the Montessori Community.
The culmination of Annette's career as a Montessori Trainer is the expansion of the Montessori Training Center in St. Louis at Grand Center to include both Primary Teacher Training and the Lab School for children.
Annette enjoyed owning and managing Red Fox Paso Finos with Lew, in her time away from travel and teaching. Here Paso Fino horses are bred, trained, shown and enjoyed, and they have cultivated a community of close friends around them who share this passion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mamie (nee Howard) Mallett.
Surviving are her husband Lewis Haines of Troy, IL; children, David (Dr. Jennifer Stephani) McCarthy of Vancouver, WA, Dr. Monica (Dr. Matthew) DiMagno of Ann Arbor, MI, Mamie (Barton) Harvey of Lakeville, MN, Lewis Haines of Glen Carbon, IL and Michele (Eric) Clark of Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren, Charles, Elena, Alex and Lulu DiMagno, Anna, Maria and Jon Harvey, Benjamin McCarthy, Whitney, Jack and Sam Clark, Kelsey, Blake and Ashley Haines.
