Anne Francis Gula, age 58, of Troy, Illinois, passed away February 18, 2004 at St. Louis University Hospital.
Anne was the oldest of thirteen children born to Paul and Anne (nee Hughes) Bouman in Cleveland, Ohio. Anne was the Lead Monitor for 3 and 4-year-olds at the Neumann Club at St. John Neumann School in Maryville, Illinois, for the past six years.
She was very active at Church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Maryville; she was past-president of St. Ann's Altar Society. She was a gifted teacher and working with children was her life's passion.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Michael Gula, of Troy; five sons, Steven, Dennis, Timothy, John, and Christopher; three brothers, Michael, Alan, and James Bouman; nine sisters, Cathleen Graham, Rosemary Wagner, Paulette Grasse, Joanne Celebreeze, Patricia Hudson, Mary MIller, Margaret Bowes, Donna Roman, and Jeanette Dempsey; and ten grandchildren, Megan, Jamee, Nick, Katie, Ethan, Meagan, Logan, Hayden, Sam, and Andrew.
Visitation: 1:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, February 20, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Illinois and one hour prior to service at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am, Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Maryville, Illinois, with Father Jeff Holtman presiding.
