Mrs. Anna Smiddy, 92, born August 18, 1913 in Argo, Illinois, died June 25, 2006 at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, Illinois.
Mrs. Smiddy lived first in Argo, Illinois and then Jonesboro, Illinois for a period of 59 years, then moved to Ellettsville, Indiana before moving to Troy, Illinois in 1999. Mrs. Smiddy attended St. Blase Catholic Church of Argo, Illinois, St. Mary Catholic Church of Anna, Illinois, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. John Catholic Church in Bloomington, Indiana, and last attended St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Illinois. She was a member of Brookfield, Illinois Moose Lodge.
Mrs. Smiddy is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Catherine (nee:Olach) Jandak, her husband Karl Smiddy whom she married on October 28, 1933 and passed away on September 7, 1985, a brother Fred Jandak, and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Kristofik and Mrs. Irene Dever.
Mrs. Smiddy is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Judy (Jim) Haas of Collinsville, Illinois, one brother Rudy (JoAnn) Jandak of Homer Glen, Illinois, two sisters, Mrs. Marie (Arthur) Olson of Brookfield, Illinois, Mrs. Eleanor (Ed) Morris of Brookfield, Illinois, two grandchildren, Bruce (Debbie) Haas of Greenville, Illinois and Beth (Jim) Taylor of Maryville, Illinois, and two great-grandchildren, Katie Ogan and Maddie Taylor.
VISITATION: Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P. M. on Friday, June 30, 2006. Prayer Service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Friday evening.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 9:00 A.M. at the Laughlin Funeral Home in Troy, Illinois with Father Jack Quilligan officiating.
BURIAL: Committal Service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Jonesboro City Cemetery, Jonesboro, Illinois.
