Mrs. Alice E. Bakken,85, of Troy,IL. born Nov. 1, 1920 in Leavenworth, Kansas.,died Wednesday, Dec.21 2005 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Mrs. Bakken was a retired U.S. poultry inspector for U.S. Government. She has lived in Troy since August of 1997, prior to moving to Troy she lived in Valmeyer, IL. and in Pelican Rapids, Minn. She was a member of the Troy Senior Citizens and St. Leonard's Altar Society, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bakken, whom she married Oct. 12 1941, and who died, Feb 4, 1983; her parents, August C. and Maria, nee Erickson, Springer; a daughter, Patricia (Ted) Johnson; four brothers,Edward, Dominic, August and Bernard; and a sister, Anna Petterson.
Surviving are a son, Charles (Shelby) Bakken of Collinsville, Ill; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and great-great-granchild.

Funeral;A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy ILL. Troy ILL., with Rev. Steven Janoski officiating. Burial will be in St. Leonard's Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minn.
