Obituary
Mr. Alexander P. Hood, 78 of Troy, Illinois died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois. He was the beloved husband of Josephine Hood.
Mr. Hood was born May 29, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, and had spent most of his life in Troy, Illinois. He was a former Troy Illinois City Policeman and retired from the Public Works Department. Mr. Hood was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Adah (nee Letson) Hood; brothers, Leonard, Benjamin and Charles Hood, and sister, Evelyn Koch.
Surviving are his wife Josephine (nee Ripperda) Hood of Troy, Il.; sons, Gary (Brenda) Hood of Granite City, IL., and Robert (Robin) Hood of Collinsville, IL.; daughters, Deborah Hood of Troy, IL. and Lisa (J.R.) Green of St. Jacob, IL.; brother, Milton (Joanne) Hood of Troy, IL.; sisters, Fern Mateer of Glen Carbon, IL. and Audrey (Russell) Klaustermeier of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Tiffany, Kayla Elisha, Christina, and Elisa Marie Hood and R. J. Long, and great grandchildren, Cheyene, Maranda and Taylor.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Troy, IL.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 5 to 8 PM and Friday, December 17, 2010 from 9 to 10 AM at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 17, 2010 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officating.
Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Illinois.
