Alan R. “Big Al” DeBlock, 69, of Troy, IL, born October 27, 1956, in Kewanee, IL and passed away at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Alan was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL. He was a Service Manager in Tele-Communications for GTE-Verizon, IPC and retired from Market Communications LLC. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 1st Degree Council 9266, Troy, IL, Piper City Lions Club and the Edwardsville Moose Lodge. Alan was always ready to go camping, boating, and fishing. He and Mary enjoyed traveling, especially when it involved swimming pools and beaches. Big Al enjoyed watching sports, he was a St. Louis Cardinal and Illini fan. Most of all, Alan loved his family and cherished the times they spent together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Marit J. (nee Wangelin) DeBlock; and his father-in-law, Norman Eggleston Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Mary S. (nee Eggleston) DeBlock; his daughters, Jennifer DeBlock of Edwardsville, IL, Jillian (Scott) Thole of St. Rose, IL and Julie DeBlock of Highland, IL; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ava Klein, Elsie Thole and Tatum DeBlock; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Eggleston of Streator, IL; brother, Michael (Mary) DeBlock of Batavia, IL; brothers-in-law, Norman (Laura) Eggleston of Streator, IL, Gary (Cindy) Eggleston of Windell, NC and Ronald (Julie) Eggleston of Bloomington, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 pm on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Friday, June 19, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL with Fr. Kevin Laughery officiating.
